OPENS November 11, 2007 through May 26, 2008
As the first ever venue for this national traveling exhibit developed by the National World War II Museum, The Museum of Mobile proudly presents "We Remember." Seventy-five black and white photographs offer a glimpse into life during World War II. From the battle front to the home front, the exhibit creates windows back to the people and events that shaped history and the modern world. Please visit us between November 11, 2007 and May 26, 2008 for this exhibition into the not too distant past.

Permanent Exhibits


Old Ways New Days Part I
This exhibit takes you back in time to Mobile’s first inhabitants, the Native Americans. As you embark on your journey back to the present time you will learn about Mobile’s fascinating 300 year history.

Old Ways New Days Part II
This exhibit explores Mobile’s history using topical themes that are interesting to everyone. Interactive exhibits are interspersed with exciting artifacts that tell the stories of Mobile’s disasters, diversity, recreational activities, local industry and much more.

Walls and Halls
As you walk to your exhibit gallery destination, please view the items on display from our collection in the halls and on the walls. Furniture, antique silver and artwork are among some of the artifacts on display.

Discovery Room Interactive Gallery
Children will have an opportunity to get their hands on history in this interactive exhibit gallery. As children explore they will learn about the Southern Market’s architectural features, its historic function and about the people who worked in the Southern Market stalls. Recommended grades: Pre K - 4
