Discovery Room Interactive Gallery
Children will have an opportunity to get their hands on history in this interactive exhibit gallery. As children explore they will learn about the Southern Markets architectural features, its historic function and about the people who worked in the market stalls.
Recommended grades: Pre K - 4

Scavenger hunts are an educational tool that allow visitors to self-guide through the museum at their own pace. Not only will children enjoy hunting for answers, but their experience will also be active and engaging.

Hi. Im Maurice the Market Mouse. You may see me lurking on walls or hiding by artifacts as you tour through the museum. Almost 150 years ago, in the year 1857, I moved into the Southern Market. Since then, I have claimed it as my home. Over the years Ive seen a lot of historical events, and when you visit the museum I will share my experience with you.
