Augusta Evans Wilson - Augusta Jane Evans Wilson (1835-1909) was one of the most popular American novelists of the nineteenth century and certainly the most successful Alabama writer of her time. Her literary fame made her a prominent citizen of Mobile, where she spent most of her life. The Passion of Miss Augusta is a project which includes a film and an online museum based on the life and work of Augusta Evans Wilson (1835-1909), one of the most popular American writers of the nineteenth century, famous for the strong-willed female characters who often echoed her own life.
